seemed like the shoe was long enough for an 8.5 but , overall too wide and my heel slipped on both when I walked.

Very comfortable shoe, and reasonably priced. I normally wear an 8. The size 8 in this seemed a bit too tight. So I tried it in the wide, which caused it to seem too long. So I tried again with a 7.5 in wide. Perfect! Just got done wearing it for an all day flight across the country, with one plane change and a lot of walking through two airports. Total comfort and good support doing all that walking in these. Glad I got them.

Ordered my usual size (61/2 M) but was surprised (as other customer said) overall too large (even with thin sox.). Have previously purchased Dr. Scholls booties of similar style and fit was fine. Too bad will have to return.
